Do you want to know how to hypnotize people?
The good news is that it is not as difficult as you might think but it does require some patience and most important, mutual trust. Also keep in mind that it’s extremely unlikely that you will have any luck in hypnotizing somebody who does not want to be hypnotized. Trust and willpower are the most important factors.
Hypnotism requires a state of complete relaxation. However, it is important that the subject is not feeling too tired, since the risk of falling asleep would be too high and this is not what you want. You want your subject relaxed but alert.
Clothing is another issue for you to consider. The subject should ideally be wearing baggy clothing and anything that is comfortable to lie down and relax in. And often times it’s a good idea for them to remove their shoes.
Now, let’s discuss the lighting in the room as lighting is another really important factor in setting the proper atmosphere. Turning the lights down low will help bring on the relaxed state you need to induce the hypnotic trance.
Depending on the reasons for the hypnosis, which should be discussed beforehand, the hypnotist will want to start by telling the subject to imagine a specific place or scenario. The subject should relax by breathing slowly and not moving at all. They should focus entirely on the specific scenario while blocking out all else from their mind. It requires some discipline, but you need to be comfortable in being able to give all your attention over to that one thing.
Hypnotisation is not so difficult for the hypnotist, but can be very difficult for the subject. These difficulties are normally brought about by a lack of faith or willpower.
It is important when coming out of the state of trance the hypnotist be patient. This can be a fairly slow process, in which the patient needs to be gradually bought back to a normal level of consciousness. It is important here to avoid any unpleasant surprises and to make the transition as smooth as possible.
